chrome ball incident #576: sticky fingers

"Aaron Murray's skating always reminded me of a black cat. He skates low and always lands on his feet. Just his ability to get where he wanted to go in a pool or in a crowded CASL parking lot contest was eye-opening, tricks aside."

-Julien Stranger, "5 Great Styles That I Hope Won't Die"

Something for the older heads... the (slightly) younger dudes will get theirs in a few more hours.

Big up to Herdman and Rob E Beats.

that Julien article is really radical. So's Aaron Murray.

I'd never heard of this cat, but he shreds like jazz. Straight beamin' on that layback.

He had a video part in an old Speed Wheels video with more beaming than I've ever seen.

yeah that's gotta be a good 5-6 feet of vert on that first shot. at least... dude was pretty rad. who's next, tim jackson? :)

thanks guys.

yeah, the amount of beaming back in the Venice golden era is pretty amazing. There were a few flicks I almost put up where Aaron's beaming is so out of control that its almost laughable in today's context. And it wasn't just Fingers guilty of it, everybody in that scene was mugging it up.

Funny how trends and fashion change.

FINGERS!
Awesome post Chops!
Style for days. That first pic on the Pavillion wall is insane to this day! Great interview with Fingers in Juice Mag a few years back -
Still ripping too - took the first drop at the Grand Opening of the Venice Skatepark in October 2009.
Tim Jackson's gotta be soon!!!
Thanks!

One of the more underrated skaters of that era. I always enjoyed seeing Murray's ads in the mags - gave me a sense of how gnarly and badass those Cali heads were back then. Made me skate harder.

Thanks Chops.
