chrome ball incident #156: cannonball

Watched 1st and Hope again last night and this dude's cameo almost stole the show. A true lifer, Eric Dressen always conjures up images of a backwards hat at warp speed. No nonsense.

And yeah, I couldn't resist throwin' in that everslick ad. Executive privilege.

The Santa Cruz everslicks were so much better than the later World and everyone elses. The SC slick layer was much thinner, so it didn't kill the pop and didn't feel like a tank in comparison to the later versions.

I'll always remember him in Speed Freaks. IIRC, he had the first part. He's got a mad stylish cruising/carving style.

I think I've only ever had 1 NHS/Santa Cruz board in my 20 years of skating. It was a Roscopp bulls eye in grade 9. Hated it LOL

I totally remember this ad in thrasher. i was probs in the 7th grade. i thought to myself,"yes, i don't have to spend money on skinny little white boy rails anymore." wow, as i'm writing this i'm now possibly putting two and two together. late 80's early nineties , skinny little white boys, rails. those guys were totally loaded on cocaine. YES! good work boys, good work. anyway, i think the santa cruz decks, pictured in the post, ran about 50 dollars. so you were actually paying 10 dollars more, without griptape. when was the last time you said griptape? you better have a creature post for tomorrow. it would just be un american if you didn't. more early to mid nineties stereo ads.. how many half-life ads do you think they ran in the magazines? start diggin, buddy. keep up the good work. brings me back to high school. sitting in the cafeteria reading big brother and slap, wearing 44 waist maroon big deal jeans, listening to del tha funkee homosapien and souls of mischief and sweatin the shit outta world industries. dial 7 digits. what a fascinating time. half-life, earls stereo, metro p, mid nineties supreme, early deluxe, early 40s, early supernaut. that time was great. it would be nice to see that line up in a post. gets yr arts and crafts on.
