chrome ball incident #869: out of step

"Tom Knox used to fuck curbs up... he was like a poet." -Lotti

"I always respected people that skated everything. Tom Knox was a huge influence." -Karma

Always loved this part growing up. This one is pretty classic, too.

Big thanks to Damon and DLX for the hook-up.

This guy really fit Sarta Cruz's team vibe. An important link from 80s to 90s street skating. I feel he never got his due because he wasn't tech enough.

This guy was it for me after seeing him in the real late 80s early 90s Santa Cruz videos. Fucking good, but his skateing was relatable, like maybe you could kinda somhow get to be as good as him if you put in the time. Deserves an epicly later'd like Dressen.

I know Risk It is a bigger part- street, pool, very. And his Speed Freaks part was filmed in one day. But there was something special about that Speed Freaks part. Definitely one of the highlights of the video for me. But I never understood the slo-mo (blunt to pivot on a curb?).

My favorite era of skating, although I like them all, was right then. 88-92ish... Right after the rubber boys/ shackle me not and right before the pressure flip phase. You younger kids have no idea how rad of a time in skating that was. The equivalent will never happen again either, how could it?

The last era where they skated everything, he always had great video parts, and looked smooth skating. I feel like that late 80's, early 90's SCS had two guys who might have been the most complete skaters of the time, Knox & Kendall... Both super underated ... Go back and watch those two guys parts... Really insane parts.
