When I think of Matt, I think of smiles, laughs, power hugs and power nollies, in that order. A massive personality filled with love for those close to him, with a unique and personal vision of what skateboarding was and could be that shaped the vision of many others. We spent some close and formative times together, and I can absolutely say that he helped shape my career in skateboarding, but more so he gave me a true friendship that endures despite distance and time. I think most of his friends can say that. But lord, the power! Explosive. When Fieldsy got the spark, look out! Raw energy. Huge snaps, full speed, sometimes barely in control, just barging. He could really turn it on. Aggressive creativity, with flow and determination. Being around it was seriously motivational. Matt was always good at inspiring others. I can hear him yelling out and laughing during sessions right now. Still makes me smile. He has been through hard times, big ups and downs, but he is a soul survivor, a loving father and husband, and friend to many. His vision lives on. I see it, too. Stay strong, Matty, stay you. Buck! Buck!

not a lot of people make shoveit flips look good. sick
A Rasa Libre post would be sick, even if it is on the outskirts of the 90s theme going on here...
