#758: what does your soul look like?

...got bored watching the Oscars again. A CBI tradition.

This post is dedicated to those out there that still have a soft spot in their hearts for Police Academy 4.

Tomorrow's post will pay homage to the recently deceased Carlsbad Gap. RIP

Years ago we were skating downtown Cleveland and had gotten kicked out of a spot by the police. As we are walking to somewhere else 2 bike cops creep up on us. I'm thinking "We left the spot and now we're just walking: What the hell?"
They get beside us and go: "Say the line from Police Academy!" Best encounter with cops "who used to skate".

I think YouTube has had a massive effect on the video aspect of skateboarding. On one hand, it's great to see rare videos floating around (e.g. 101 Promo, early New Deal, etc). On the other hand, new videos are bootlegged so fast, there's almost no incentive to cop anything that's just been released.

Also think about all the Sponsor-Me footage that's now on YouTube. A lot of it is rubbish, but some of it is genuinely good.

Police Academy 4 was amazing. Rented, dubbed and watched it so many times. What a drastically different time it was back then to ever get to see any new skateboarding. Waiting for vhs skate videos to come out and rent them from the local shop. Now it's a key stroke away, millions of video clips. Such a different time.

Is that fueltv contest ad with Strobeck the one that won the money to make Macho Taildrop?
