chrome ball incident #718: under pressure

"I hate people who take everything totally serious. I like to try and wreck the guys I know who will get pissed off." -Jeremy Klein

...and for all those wondering.

And in other news: stoked on this.

'Under Pressure' > Tom Petty.

Sorry, but I felt that it had to be said.

Jeremy and Heath's part from The End is a favorite among all my non-skating friends

ATM knows what's up with the VHS. I wish I could replicate the curb thrashing klien lays down in rubbish heap

Is that the same chip van ham from caught clean?

*the title of this post has been changed to reflect the wishes of our outspoken Queen & Bowie/VHS-favoring portion of the Chrome Ball audience.

Never a true favourite of mine I must admit but definitely respect the guys skating. Done some sick stuff over the years and an innovator for sure. One thing that a lot of people never seem to comment on is his huge ollie power as seen him boost over some big stuff.

Pretty sure Erik Ellington did that same corner kickflip to fakie in the last ten years.

Puts things in perspective a little bit.

that shut thing is cool. a little love note in there to those of us from jersey from that era: rod's siting on the golf banks in...damn i'm too old to remember if it was metro park or metuchen.

i used to live in the southbay back in the 90s and used to watch jeremey, daewon, ricks, rodney all of them ripped it up so hard.

beryl-kickflip corner to corner. ricks did it for the liberty horror video in 1990 before klein and ellington.

Does anyone actually prefer the Tom Petty version of that part? It's hard for me to fathom that.

Anonymous #2, Yeah, Jeremy kinda rubbed me wrong but there's no denying his influence or his skills. He had a mean back smith, went big and helped usher in the "Flip-in, Flip-out" style. He also brought the "Focus" to the masses, pushed the boundaries of hijinx and appealed to the pyro in all of us.

Like him or not, he's an important fixture of skateboarding.

Excellent work as always Chops.

Agree with ATM lol

Rubbish Heap was good. Then imo it was all down hill. He did do a cool bs lip in the end though.

Dude must me loaded from Hook-Ups.

Jeremy Klein changed everything about skating for me. When I first watched his part in Rubbish Heap I became completely addicted to skating. 34 and still feel it.

Chops, a current interview with Jeremy would be interesting.

Is he going over both handrails in the mute catch pick?

Alright!
Just what I was waiting for!
Thanks,Chops!
Only interview I've seen/read was the TWS Pro Spotlight, another would be great.
'The End' slays,to this day.

Thanks for weighing in on that Ricks, I was tripping there for a second because I would've definitely asked that in the interview had I known.

figured that would get a reaction out of you, royce.

and I'd love to do a klein interview for sure. I know he rubs a lot of people the wrong way... and he could've definitely shaved more than a few years off of that career (maybe thats why heath retired early) but there's no doubting both the influence and entertainment factor of this man.

thanks for all the comments, everyone.

He has about 7 skate parts in the 1990-1995 era on youtube that are simply amazing. Skated exactly like I wish I could. Skateboarding needs more of that asshole J.K. in its life.

stephen-yes, i think you're right about edison. i recall it being close to the train stop. we came from west windsor. i went only once or twice, fall of '88 or spring of '89. weird to think that's when they would have been filming the stuff there that's in rubbish sheep.

Chops,
Jeremy is definitely one of the most influential skaters out there.

I can't wait to see if you can make an interview happen.
