I've always liked that that Thunder ad--and everything else DLX put out at the time. And Ethan's skating is timeless. I only wish his comment about style being attainable were true.
Rif (Bif?) Yeah, there's definitely something going on with that board he's riding. No way that's a mid-90's Stereo board.
SMorales, its from a Tum Yeto tour article in Slap. 99 or so.
Of course, Andrew! And don't spare any details, man. How was it? Did you go to all 3 days? Did Julien and Andy make it up there? The Mrs. and I went to the New York one of these and really had a great time. Glad you did, too. Let's hear it.
I have a later-in-life appreciation for Ethan. I never liked him when I was younger, but over the last few years I've grown to appreciate his style and trick selection much, much more.
That high ollie in the Marseille bowl must be after the Münster contest. I was in Münster and remember Ethan riding a wide old school board with short nose and square tale and a Spitfire sticker on it. Almost as a quiet protest against the competition. But he rode with self confidence and style (not in a ironic/dandy way as Olson sometimes does) and did more flowy ticks. I can still remeber the lofty 360 flips he did over the hips with that big board.

was there ever footage of the bs flip over the gonz gap?
fs rock shot is nice.
What happened to that shoe company he was leading... Beloe or something like that?
Really stoked on his Stereo days. Kinda missed his whole Foundation phase.
Style and Talent!
It's always a surprise to see new (old) stuff from your favorites. 4th frame on the 360 flip at burnside is great!

He rode an old school board at a contest in Vancouver, too.
forever. 1up
hung with him in vancouver SPEED freak in more ways than one if you catch my drift
I never trust a person who doesn't like Ethans style.
Ethan's always been the shit, but I breathed a sigh of relief when Beloe went under.
