chrome ball incident #493: all along the watchtower

Had to move Wednesday's post up a day as there was a last-minute delay in the initial plan. No worries.

Today's post features one of those type articles where I remember exactly where I was the first time I saw it (Ryan let me borrow this issue in Mrs. Casto's English class), Markovich's legendary posthumous spotlight from the spring of '92.

Released before the tattoos, team changes, and terminators... back when 101 was supposed to be forever and Kris was unquestionably the gnarliest dude walking the Earth in some big-ass T-Bags pants. This was a big deal.

A prime example of collaborative effort between skater and photographer... both Marky and Swift killed it on this one.

Always loved this part too.

Had a pair of t-bags, ordered them from XYZ, got them shipped to Oz back in the early nineties with some Blind, FUCT and Droors pants and a 'Ravers Suck' t-shirt. Didn't he and Danny Way have a fight?

doesn't posthumous typically mean "released after death"?

Yes, it does.

Please see the first paragraph of interview along with the accompanying photo of Kris as a ghost.

Thought I'd handle this one for you Chops. Keep up the good work.

kris and dannny had 2 fights closly after each other. It was said to be over a girl danny caught kris kissing at the trade show. Kris was the victor in both fights.

There was a contest in Macon that had an obstacle you used to see- a big, flat wooden bank with a launch ramp in the middle of it. The talk of the contest was how Markovich had ollied straight off the launch ramp over the top of the bank- which was ridiculous. His Dad made him stop; he was afraid Markovich would break his leg.

Did Laban have a trick in TWS on that water gap, years after this came out or am I mistaken?

Laban had a trick on that water gap well after Markovich

Man, Markovich used to kill it. I still don't understand the whole not sticking with one company for very long thing. All his 101/Prime footage was pretty off the chain. I gotta give it up for his Foundation part too. Hell, his Color part was pretty amazing too.

Oddly enough, he spent the night at my house once. I don't remember why though. It was just him and for some reason he didn't have a place to stay that night so I let him crash at my place. Random.

that front board he did down the la jolla high double kink rail is probably the best thing done on that rail, ever. I think its only been lipped, boardslid, and 50-50d since.
