chrome ball incident #459: plantar warts

decided to have a little fun tonight and visit the "where are they now?" file here at the chrome ball offices.

had a few requests for berkeley transplant Brian Chung... which I honestly thought was kind of odd until I noticed that just about every damn bit of his coverage was top shelf:

backside tail at the china banks ('94)
smith grind at hubba ('94)
frontside board the federal rail ('94)
backside ollie over that berkeley tennis bench ('96)

...not bad at all in my book.

and his spitfire part, though a bit short, is nice as well. (6:11)

but don't feel too bad for him falling through the cracks... word is that he moved back to his native Atlanta and became a doctor.

hope he got that foot looked at.

Is the shot of the kickflip over the hip from that SF article that TWS ran in, like, '94? "Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair." Wow, did that magazine suck. Oh, and nice outfit.

The ollie over the bench totally sold me. Look at his face - he's really fucking pulling for it! Looking like an undercover cop too, wearing all navy. Pretty rad.

I really like this one. Nice change of pace grabbing an unknown ripper from out the past, dusting him off and holding him up to the light so his accomplishments are finally acknowledged.

I can think of a number of pros that are reminisced about very fondly that never threw down the calibre of tricks presented here. As a matter of fact, that same bench ollie largely comprised the basis of Ben Liversedge's career.

Bryan Chung, welcome back from obscurity. Well done.

More proof that this website is one of the best things going on the net right now. I had never even heard this name before. Thanks!

My Bro "Chunger". One of the best skateboarders to come out of Atlanta Ga. He is the best saltwater fisherman in the southeast. The man can save your life if your ever bleeding out. An exellent father and husband. You might get lucky and catch him in his scrubs @ Owens Field Park S.C. and witness his freakish pop and supreme board control. Gotta luv em.

It seems lots of people who went to SF in the EMB days got em.

Kickflip over the hip picture is so nice. Not too many folks can make shorts look rad and sometimes a kickflip can just make the perfect picture. Glad he went into medicine, we need doctors, (plus it's just good to have goals in general). Yeah Chung!

lucas, i actually don't think that outfit is so bad by chrome ball standards.

anon2, i was thinking the same thing about an anti-hero spot.

good lookin' on the spellcheck, keith.

thanks everyone.

If I'm not mistaken, he had a board out in the last 90's on Torque Skateboards.

i use to live on the same block as him in Berkeley, he was going to school for Medicine. He would skate really fast holding a bucket with body parts on ice. Rumor has it that it was human hearts, Brian, what was in the bucket?

he's a really sick skater and super cool guy. props.

He grew up skating with Andy Howell and Daniel Powell.

I enjoyed my first orgasm thanks to Brian! He was AWESOME in bed ;)

Haha, I grew up skating with him. Beachwood > Berkley. BC would know what that means if he saw it..
