Transworld's classic second Street Symposium from 1990, featuring most of street skating's top new dudes at the time. And Steve Saiz.
Definitely stolen a few shots from this already but thought the entire article was worthy of a post.
I remember losing my mind when this came out back in the day. 16 full pages of nothing but street seemed absolutely majestic back then.
Look for the first version of this article from 1986 soon enough.
special thanks to the Tap.

I loved that article. It came out during my second year of skating. Immediately checked out to have my front truck looser than my back truck. What happened to Mark Heintzmann? Seems like he only had a short time as a pro.
86 is definitely more my speed but this shit is siicck! first shot, back lip? board control much? didn't even see this article when it first appeared. my bad, i guess. whats really funny is my word verification is winero... and i'm totally drunk... how does my mac know this shit?
What are "hip hop tricks"?
Totally remember that article. I studied it for sure. Looking back now, why does Jason Lee, the sickest of bunch, have such a tiny photo? LOL
10" wide boards... I can't even imagine that now. No idea how I learned flip tricks on something that wide.
Speaking of Heintzman, you should post his TWS interview—the one where he talks about his M.C. Escher graphics, the Beasties, etc.
Heintzman sold a Gonz Skull and Banana on ebay a few years ago.
Good stuff. Been following your blog for a bit and was thinking about Mark Heintzman too. But a Frankie post wouldn't be bad either..
Ahh..... My first transworld
Does this mark the 1st apperance by Tom Knox on CBI?..if so, it's about time...All terrain ripper, who doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves...
YES!!! I've ben trying to find this article forever. Like many of you I also started running the back truck a little tighter. This rules, thanks for posting!
It's funny - I started skating a while after this but I remember the tighter back truck rule all the same. Seems like that stuck around. I still ride a tighter back truck.
10" wide boards would be insane also... I have to muscle kickflips on an 8", although it seems like wider boards are becoming more popular again. You don't see nearly as many 7.5s anymore.
We make chrome trim strips for any make and model car or truck. Dont see your make and model here in our catalog? Truck Chrome stacks
