on a personal note, i used to sweat 43 so bad as a kid. granted the studio was basically just a mini-ramp but all my favorite pros skated there and it always seemed so exclusive and mysterious... and refreshingly innocent by today's standards.
regardless, i bet this dude has stories for days.

The schmitt construction ad with allen midgett was in the first transworld I ever had.
Bryce always seemed so cool.
I did not know he did skate daily.
ALWAYS LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL STUFF.
THANK YOU.
BK will appreciate the 00:43 posting time! Thanks for recognizing his contribution to all things skate.
one of my first real set ups was the BK because in jr. high, I thought he was so awesome. I still think he is so awesome.
Niceness.
Fuck yeah, Schmitt Stix BK gargoyle board!
I was rocking that for like three decks in a row at one point.
Sick post, thanks.
BK ...nice post! what a multi-talented all around nice guy. i had a stint where i rode those shmitt stix gargoyle boards for a bit and i actually sent him a letter back in 88'-89' (can't remember)... well, remember when sk8 mags had the whole 'send $1 in for stickers' deal? ...well i did that and wrote a letter to Bryce tellng him how stoked i was on his board and the dude sent me back a SHITLOAD of thrasher/shmitt stix/billabong sticker packs and an autogaphed 8x10" photo of him doing a b/s stalefish grab waleride at those brick bart banks in SF (i still have the photo. haha). as a 13 yr old i was stoked for sure who would do that nowadays as a pro?
I went through many Schmitt Stix decks including a couple of BK Gargoyle boards. I think I first really noticed him when Billabong hooked him up - I'm pretty sure that he was on the first group of skaters they sponsored. Anyway, he lives here in Portland now, is welcome everywhere, is very respectful and cool. Rolls with some heavies for sure. Still skates pretty damn well too.
Bryce is seriously the best, wish there were more skateboarders like him in the game. Thanks so much for this post, keep 'em coming!
Still skate mostly natural terrain due to BK's Sick Boys commentary.
I think for a while the gargoyle was one of the only functional decks for the time. Good Schmitt wood, the only decent double-kick in the industry and a longer nose than the Natas or Hensley.
Yaaa Bryce!!! OGs got style!
Gargoyle boards were legendary in my town back in those days! All the best dudes in town were rocking those.
"BK and the place to be..." Will always picture him skating that O-town pool in Sick Boys while carrying that little kid from the neighborhood.
That china banks shot of him doing the crailtap/slasher is amazing.
Glad he's still in the game. Seems like a really cool and smart dude, too.
