glad to see you're back, chops!

welcome back. the people who hate on him probably do not remember Wade Speyer rocking the flannel shirts way back when. still, his earlier parts kill his part in the Lakai vid

Alien Workshop (flow)

Damn that check out is old.

I've never seen that TWS part before LOL. Super sick.

I liked early Pops better.

I hope we get to see the footage of his chocolate ads from the last couple years. Don't really understand all the criticism about him. Not on here but on other interweb spots. Pops rips.

think i'm gonna start incorporating more check-outs into these things... just seems like a logical choice.

and i need to do a wade speyer post real bad.

correct, mr. nameless.

yeah guys, i admittedly enjoy his earlier SKATING more but that's definitely not a slight on his lakai part and his current mode which is also ill in an apples-to-oranges kinda way. I just don't understand such a suprising amount of kids saying he "sucks" now.

This is gonna sound ridiculous and I'll probably regret typing this the minute its posted but while his former teched-out steez was obviously "better" on a trick-for-trick basis, i find what he's trying to do now much more interesting to watch and think about.

that being said, i think if i was a youngster, there's a good chance I'd hate it too and it may be only because i'm a geezer that doesn't place such an emphasis on tricks nowadays that i can appreciate his new way.

I'm not sure, man... not trying to bring some slap forum ruckus in here. i just dig pops.

totally expecting keith to throw flames on this one.

I think his part in the Lakai video was great and it was nice to see something different in there. His early tech steez are definitely still there, I just think he is trying to do something different to show one of the varied styles of skateboarding out there.

I had every single scan you put up in my notebooks back in my early teen days....Those were the years were AWS decks were absolutely everywhere....Sure he gets hated on from the younger crowds; but watching his parts in Photo and I.E., comparing them to now, nothing has changed about him (at least to me anyway)....To me, he's a skater that you can't have a video part come out and be satisfied on until the next one. There is just too much of a dynamic in his skating you can't fully capture on film. I would rather spend a week skating with him in the city than watching video of him....

For us old guys, we grew up on Julien Stranger. From seeing him as an amazing am in those Speed Wheels videos to pro to limited footage. Regarless, still down with his shit and he should still get mad respect.

For dudes who started skating in in the last years of the Millennium, Pops is, or should be, their Julien Stranger... as for fucker who hate on him, they are entitled to their opinion. Unfortunately, their opinion is wrong. LOL

For me, the only dudes that fall in that category are Guy, Gino, Keenan (rip) and Penny. SJ was in there before but not anymore lol Definitely not Pops.

I concur.

keith is at war with the anonymous!

and i don't really remember why i changed the title. i think it was that i thought i used that title already so i changed it. hope that answers your question, mr... youwiththehaton.
