chrome ball incident #704: burn no bridges

"You look like a girl when you skateboard when you wear that stuff."

Gotta admit that I slept on how amazing this dude was for the longest time because I just couldn't get past the outfits.

Godspeed, Ali.

"It's been the worst of times. It's been very difficult and it always will be. I lost my friend."

Ali got lost in the shadows compared to the other Flip guys, which is a bummer. I always thought his switch skating was amazing and really underrated.

Oh, and RIP Shane.

maybe great, maybe not. devil's advocate always exists in skateboarding. that's good.

Proper shame what happened with the accident, but life goes on. Sick skater, really friendly guy too

I couldn't get past the kit either.

When I first heard about the accident, I didn't even know who Shane Cross was. I was way out of the loop in terms of skate gossip.

but it somehow doesnt feel right to see him in the mags with beer and party-smile again (thrasher).

fuck that kind of mentality. if he was pictured blown out of his skull and running around up to maniacal deeds, fine, but he's allowed a beer and a laugh. fall back on your judgments; you don't know the dude and what he's REALLY been through. of course what happened was tragic, and it'll never escape him, but he deserves to live his life. is he supposed to look pious and forlorn at all times from here on out till he's ghost? fuck off.

i love ali, and i love his skating. but you don't need to feel the same way on either count to let him carry on as he can.

When, if ever, will he be able to skate again?

drunk driving/motor vehicle driving is stupid for everyone involved. It's a tragic situation but who can say that ali is more responsible than shane. You know he wasn't forced on the bike they both did something stupid and had to suffer the consequences
