Great quote. He summed it up perfectly, if you got the basics right, that will keep you in good stead. I hadn't seen the Slap interview before. Nice.

are those nts2's he is wearing in the stereo ad? those were sweet shoes. way better than the over rubberized orignal nts's.

Nice to see some Blue ads!

Jason Lee, Dune and Kareem under the Vision umbrella. How kooky is that.

I met Jason Lee some years ago at a Stereo relaunch. Arguably one of the nicest guys I've ever met. What's more, I bought an old old old Stereo ad (the one where him and dune are eating lunch or something). The two of them were so blown that me and my friend had bought old Stereo ads, stuff from Blue, videos, etc that they signed a couple of decks and all of our shit.

I tell that story again because that's how I met a girlfriend of mine, waiting in that line. Seriously love at first sight.

My favorite memory of Jason Lee was when I was working at Deluxe in the early 90's. I think Stereo may have just started or it was just about to launch or something like that. I was at the office and Jason Lee came up to me and was like "Hey, I called your house yesterday. I need that other camera". I remember standing there thinking "Man, Jason Lee called my house!!!" That was pretty tight.
