chrome ball incident #639: gun

"He's just lacking a little bit of that extra intensity."

There's not too many kids out there that can lay claim to the title of being an officially-endorsed Mark Gonzales stunt double.

I think I've only seen Nate Jones maybe do about a total of 10 tricks... but when you look that good doing them, sometimes that's all it takes. So smooth.

For instance, I didn't think he could look anymore relaxed in that backside tail flick up there until I realized he was actually smoking in it, too. Forget about it.

And this part still kills.

Wonder what dude is up to these days? Last I heard he was on Given...

Alright everybody, have a good weekend.

:46 = beauty.

Killing it this week, chops. Thanks.

Nate's song in Real to Reel fits so amazing.

Who shot the black and white photo; the three sixty flip, shot from above? It's amazing.

Quite possibly one of the best 360 flips ever.

That was a nice surprise. Great post. I always thought he had one of the best styles. He, like so many other former Real riders (Joey Bast, Drake Jones, etc.) kind of faded and then just disappeared.

Thanks so much chops, Nate's definitely an all time favorite. I'd be interested to know where he's at, that backtail on the fence is amazing!

one of those dudes that oozes style. Watching him push makes me want to skate. Nice post, Chops.

I like that 360 flip shot in the street from above as well.

Dude does have a lanky style. Ipath seemed like a perfect fit.

That guy was a flash in the pan and part of the 18-22% of Real riders who were not all that awesome and had no business being on Real in the first place. He's probably playing in some hippy band now and bagging groceries at the Whole Foods on California, but that is just speculation.

yeah, timeless style is the word.
soooooo good. used to put all his photos on my wall.

Nate Jones was/is sick! Smooth and effortless - just cos hes not shattering his pelvis in a desperate plea to impress 12 year olds - he sticks poopy pants! YOU slide!

Chops you kill it always. Impeccable choices every week. Don't let trolls get your goat.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion but people should express it in a respectful way. If I was to say, "I never really cared for Nate. His style didn't sit with me at all." That would be a proper way for stating my opinion without dis-respect. Of course it works both ways too. There are ways to disagree with a disrespectful poster without adding fuel to the flame war.

Keep up the good work Chops and thanks for keeping things classy.

Nate was sooo smooth. Best varial kickflip and 360 flip(along w/ Kalis) in the biz. Dude was the DLXSF logo for crying out loud! I nice reminder that it's not what you do but how you do it.

Nate rules. His bs tail down hubba in the Solid video was perfect. I remember skating with him when he came into town from dayton. no sponsors, awesome style, and a bag of tricks. Again, Nate rules.

Been a fan of his since Solid Brand in the mid 90's.

I have vague memories of him gracing us with his presence at our little indoor skate park in Indianapolis a few times.

Nate or Blondie as John Buchanan called him, was one of my all-time favorites. I would drive from Tampa to Cocoa Beach when JoBu lived with him, and we would go filming all around Florida on weekends. Shredded Orlando, Cocoa, Miami, all over. Filmed a part for 411 of him and John that never made it onto dvd. Best tre' flip since Jason Lee. A family man now, Nate does play in a rad band called Rust & Whiskey, and does not bad groceries. Is a rad dude and always will be, even if he isn't trying to stay up to date and in the skate media. Legends can rest on their laurels.
