Jesus, that interview was a trip. It's weird, because the guy's so clueless and nice, I kind of feel bad making fun of him. But he makes it so easy.... maybe too easy. I feel like I'm throwing rocks at a baby or something. Fun, yes. But also mean.
I have never heard of this guy before. Pretty rad. Stage Dive actually sounds kind of O.K. We have our own Flacon at my local park but he sucks because he thinks he is ripping and has mad ego. He does these horrible bodyjarring flyouts all day long if there are girls around. You should check him (and his awesome tech beard) out on this amazingly produced clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riHPawLk0g8&feature=related We should try to get him and the Falcon together for a sesh.
I am so bummed to admit that only today did I finally get that this was totally a joke. At the time, I really couldn't understand why Nieratko and Carnie would waste their time on Mr. Falcon. Good lord, it took me what, 8 years to finally get the joke? I am ashamed.
I think Todd Falcon was being himself when doing this, BUT he showed that he was also having fun being creative and doing these tricks. Sure he's different, but he actually rips on all terrain and is super fun to skate with... I have met him and, and witnessed his skating at the Houston skateparks a few times. I know a lot of you respect Ben Raybourn's creative skills; who do you think majorly influenced them? Todd Falcon! Each time I saw Todd Falcon, he was skating with Ben Raybourn and coaching him!
The sad thing is that many of you guys are followers, and worried about other skaters opinions. Your skating is shaped by this, and you fall into mediocrity as a result. This said, Todd Falcon is gnarlier than most of you, just for being himself.
define: trend Noun: A general direction in which something is developing or changing.
You're trend followers and hating on someone for doing their own thing. You're so obsessed with following the standards, whats cool and whats considered right or wrong in skateboarding. This guy is having fun and expressing himself. Hes amazing at what he does too and none of you, NONE OF YOU can begin to comprehend what he does. Theres no right or wrong way to use a skateboard. Its a plank of wood on wheels haha!
Look at yourselves, you're trend followers! Remember what skateboarding is about. Being yourself and doing whatever the fuck you want. If you want rules and to be told what to do and how to do it, you might aswell go play football or some other team sport.
I'm from texas also, and have met and skated with todd and Ben both. Todd is a complete kook. But he's not stupid he gets the joke. Even as a Youngster Ben knew how people looked at Todd. Todd is a good, not great skater. But super positive, and a blast to ride any size ramp with. He can skate it all. If you watch raybourne footy, he does todd's lip tricks from time to time. I can't believe I'm defending him when we used to clown him so hard. But he is a genuine good guy and skater

Haha awesome post. And Watson's totally right. Dude might be a goof ball, but skateboarding has some of the best goof balls the world has to offer.
