can someone tell me what issue and where I can find the chrome ball reference within the issue?
It's too bad mj couldn't have been in the enjoi video and yeah right! instead of fully flared somehow. Something about him was lost after that video for me, although he is still great.
haha, i was thinking the same thing, mj with hair! he looks more pimp with the bald head and beard though. how do those girl guys get better as they get older? so much steez
I hope the Skateboard Mag thing came out pretty cool. Haven't seen it myself (honestly didn't even know i was going to be in there til last week when my homie JD congratulated me on it). I'm superstoked to be in there though... kinda humbled actually. Thanks to those dudes.
once again, couldn't agree with you more, k. skateboarding: the gateway drug. we've talked about this before in regards to stuff being connected on a personal level through skating (art, music, film, etc.)... if you get the chance, i believe Aaron Rose's Beautiful Losers exhibit still may be touring around (I know the documentary will be soon available)... try to see this in person. I saw it in 2004 in Cincy with my girl and it completely blew us away. It literally deals with all of these connections and does so amazingly. My highest recommendation.
He has gotten a little weird as the years have gone on... at one point he was probably the perfect balance of weird and cool, but has started veering a little far on the weird end. THAT SAID, who really gives a fuck what kind of crazy shit on metaphysics he reads in his spare time, the dude is incredible to watch on a skateboard.
Been one of my favorites for years, trick selection, buttery smooth style and insane amounts of creativity is where its at.
His part in Fully Flared is definitely pushing it in terms of length, but the whole video really is. I find it's best to watch that one in specific sections.

MJ's always been a very good skater. I've always liked his skating. Those Maple ads in the early 411's were straight up crazy.
smorales... MJ was in yeah right.
It's in the new issue with Arto on the cover. It's around the news section up front where they pick a website of the month.
MJ's part in Fully Flared was too damn long. Plus he started to get really weird in all the interviews.

Keith, obviously. I was including yeah right in both scenarios, just worded an impossible idea awkwardly.
I can't not be an MJ fan though. 7 steps is worth the price of admission. Not to mention everything else.
Um Marc Johnson skating to Stereolab's "Ping Pong" in 411 #20. One of my all-time favorites. Someone posted it on YouTube too.
His boards were always arty as fuck. Skateboarding not only turned me on to great music, it got me interested in modern art.
Thanks chops, always a been big fan of mj. Top 3 in my book. One of the deepest bag of tricks and a long list of solid video parts.
"touchy subject" indeed. thanks fellas.

So how about the year MJ had THREE, yes THREE banging video parts:
1)Maple Vid
2)Emerica Yellow
3)NC Boardshop Montage
This guy is one of the best.

If I read "that said" one more time anywhere I am going to throw up.
MJ is magic.
