chrome ball incident #114: sweet dreams

bonjour chrome ball, i'm still trying to think of this intro to do for the creager post and i seriously can't think of any ideas. i'm having a blank on this one. i think we should just shine it, ya know... forget the intro. put the ads and photos in there... and i guess that's it.

and these too.

ronnie has been a strong influence to my style and even motivation to skate for a long while. I have just always maintained the impression he skates for himself and no one else. He has kept the same style forever and never succumbed to the trends of the sport. His distinctive brand of low impact highly tech ledge skate is surefire way to last in the sport while still being able to push the boundaries And he can even make a noseslide shove-it out look cool many years after going out of style(menikmati) I am somewhat disapointed you did not include a link to "what if" though. I would have to say that it is his true masterpiece and at his age quite impressive. Front tail 270 heel out regs and switch on a picnic table, come on not to mention the rest of the part. It is not even a comeback part, which seems to be the new hot thing these days.

So sick, but always seems kinda slept on. His eS shoe was golden, also, kinda lookin like mike mo in the fs nose ad.

also what blind video are they referring to in the 96 front nose ad cause i know they were not telling us to wait till 2008?

lookin' through all that stuff, its amazing how consistent he's been throughout his entire career. its hard to tell sometimes if a creager photo is from '04 or '94 (how many pros can you say that about?). by the choices he's made throughout his career that its clear he's in it for himself and could care less about the latest flavor of the month (how else could he have stayed on blind for almost 15 years). always sick...

I hooked up that what if link, too... by the time i get to the video links (the last part), i'm pretty much out of steam.

and yeah, the video they're referring to in that ad would the enigmatic blind full-length that went through numerous incarnations from tim & henrys (actually a promo for a full-length) and eventually becoming what if over a decade later.

mad props to the quick feedback and update. every time i check this blog, i regret cutting up all my mags for my walls. i got out of hand with it, even filling in the cracks with video sequences. what was left my dad made me throw out or take with me at 18. not to mention all my broken boards and even my ruined shoes that i kept. obviously i had no where to store them at that age. of the many things lost from my upbringing, the skate mags have been the hardest to get back. I just want to formally thank you for scanning all the good shit to the internet and allowing us to download and archive it in true fashion. this is exactly what i wanted to do when i first saw police informer but lacked the resources.

great post. I liked his thing in 411 where he's hiding/burying a bunch of gear around town, giving intersection and locations for the local groms watching 411 to go search for them LOL

As for my 90's skateboard mag collection, I donated all of it to the local library because it was just taking up way too much room and after moving several times, I had to unload shit every time. I think I may have some older stuff at my parents house still.

One of the GOATs for sure. Switch noseblunt in What If was so painfully good.

Thank you for posting a ronnie creager post. His style reminds me of San Jose skaters like Marc Johnson and Jerry hsu. Marc Johnson in the sense of fluid like style, mixed in with Jerry Hsu's switch tricks and late flips. did you see that insane switch hard flip late flip by rc on youtube at some opening trick at a competition? just insanity. Ronnie to me defines street skating for me. Just have fun being technical. He doesnt even have to kickflip a 20 stair to be impressive. The intro to his blind what if part when he was a kid, is so inspiring to just go out and have fun on a skateboard.

Re: 1996 video

Say what about the Blind section in Trilogy? I'd say it was pretty dope. Without a doubt the most impressive of the three (sorry Ol' Dirty Clyzza).

trilogy is probably my favorite creager jam just on a personal level (the time of my life when that video came out was an awesome time for me, and skating in general)... and the blind section was good but i can't believe your giving it the nod over 101, k. that's one of my all-time favorites there... from the Clash intro with the ill name chant to gino's curtains, forget about it. perfection.

didnt they advertise a full-length menace piece in there too... oh, what could've been.

still couldn't find Creager's slam city benihana-fingerflip for this post... damn

i'm glad you guys enjoy the site, means a lot. thanks for the comments.

and yeah jensen, that intro is amazing... just watched it the other day (can't believe i forgot to link to it)

Was there ever a chance he could've rode for Girl?

I can't remember but didn't Creager get onto Blind after the Girl exodus? Him, Paulo and Lavar were the replacements?
