Thanks
My guess is Frank Hirata. Seriously I don't know but I'll really go with Pat Duffy.
daewon song? legend in everyone's eyes, hasn't had a cbi yet.
awesome, awesome posts this week chops. best thing to wake up to.
#400 will be Simon Woodstock, wearing a wetsuit and riding a skimboard with trucks.
THANKS!
Chops - guess who's back!
Work's been killing me but you know I had to come through and leave a comment, right.
My guess for #400? Tim Gavin. Cuz I KNOW you gots a sense of humor.
Tom Penny would be sick
Daewon Song is a good guess. For me, "legendary ripper" makes me think it's going to be someone known more for being gnarly than tech. I notice the entire o.g. Stereo team has had a c.b.i., with one exception. I'm going with Mike Frazier, Regis, final answer.
CBI killed it this week, can't wait for #400. My guess has to go to Daewon.
legendary ... must be kerry getz haha. not to hate on the new pops i just like the old pops more. had the new pops come out and i had never seen his old footage i would love the guy , but knowing what he's capable of it's hard to like him now that he has "refined" his skateboarding. much like seeing puleo and oyola all but give up on skating ledges.
chris senn for 400? He's a ripper but I would say more underrated than legendary, though he did get on of those mantle pieces.
Chongo Mota?
Ahmed Hunt?
hondo soto?
sick post again, my friend - thx for the uppz
for the 400: j.stranger
Some Lenny Kirk for your favorite girl? hehe
fs nollie flip sequence is one of my favourites of all time. So sick!
Do all young 24/7 skaterats automatically turn into recluses when they get older?
#400... Daewon? Frankie Hill? Berra? I wouldn't tag the last two as legen--- wait for it--- dairy.
that fs nollie flip is one of my fav things ever. shows you that certain creative minds just see and approach things diff. plus pops had the game to pull it off with style. thanks dude.
#400 ??
pops is one of the best. can't get enough of that young mans skateboarding.
monday hmmmm. j.b. gillet? JUAN BAPTIST! give it up!
Omar Hassan? Grosso?
Nice ass stuff here.
I'm pulling for a Vinnie Ponte TWS cover.
larry perkins?
Give us a hint, Chops!
"JUAN BAPTIST!"
He's Spanish French now? 8)
Jean Baptist
JB is one of my favourites!
Wait, I know- Chris Cole.
Stiggy? Tully Carlton?
Okay, I'll stop.
HAHHA, for some reason i was thinking Juan Baptist doesn't sound right. stoked I wrote it anyways. It was good for a chuckle.
**correction Jean Baptist 2009 holiday post!
I've always thought of him as sort of a euro Gino, as far as style goes. Real controlled and easy to watch on the board. Anybody else draw that comparison?
I grew up skating with the guy. So one thing is for sure. Chops will kill it with #400.
It's gotta be Zozi Bernat.
skip pronier
watched Mosaic last night with some bros...probably the last good pops part. how about matt rodriguez?
thanks guys. let me go through these.
seaver: i'd do a hirata post at some point. definitely.
jackal: bingo. thanks.
gino: nope. maybe next halloween.
what's up K! thanks for comment holmes. already did gavin once... and honestly, there's not that much to choose from with him unfortunately.
coals, i wouldn't necessarily call daewon a "ripper" either but i couldn't make it too obvious. but yeah, frazier is definitely a good idea.
honestly, kerry getz was actually going to be this very post but i started gathering shit i had together and felt i didn't have enough so i scrapped it. for now.
senn is another good idea. i forget about him winning soty. kind of an odd choice but he definitely killed it that year.
ahmed hunt? you're buggin' lucas.
and I'm glad someone else remembers hondo soto.
more stranger to come but i've already done him a few times.
i heart peel.
frankie hill's been in the works, keith. and i'd do a berra post... farewell, street cred. haha
anonymous, honestly almost did grosso this week instead of chris miller. definitely soon.
stephen, your's is the best answer given. i have his big brother interview and that prank call to foundation. shit's the best.
joshua, ponte is coming up. sorry, kinda forgot actually.
Jean/Juan will definitely get a post.
thanks beats. thanks everyone.
this just reminds me of why I get so bummed out on Popps now. Nothing wrong with being an individual and skating how you want to skate - I can totally accept that. But watching his current skating is completely unrewarding to me. Obviously got nothing but love for him, but the nollie f/s flip and that switch b/s tail are reminders of who he used to be, whereas lakai was a reminder of what he now does. And maybe I'm just stuck in the past, but I miss what used to be.
