I just want to go on record in saying that I don't know of any other skater with the sheer volume of top-quality coverage as john cardiel. this is his 6th post and while the majority of pros would have bottomed out by now, cards actually has several legendary flicks yet to be scanned.

so many photos and not a single one could be labeled as "mediocre"... I honestly feel like I've barely even begun to scratch the surface.

had some requests for this transworld spotlight that I'm more than happy to honor. all hail.

I wish I wouldn't have wasted so much time in my early teens trying to learn every single fucking trick and instead just focused on making the fun ones look better.

the answer was right in front of me... such is youth, I guess.

figured I'd let the Tempster lead us into what's looking to be quite the holiday week for your friend and humble narrator. on a personal note, mr. chops is to become uncle chops any day now and i'm pretty stoked.

chrome ball incident #383: desaturate

another outspoken innovator whose current outsider status in skateboarding is an absolute mockery of his contributions to the sport.

a friend of mine once told me that he considers ricky "the east coast henry sanchez". my initial reaction was that my man had lost his mind... until i realized that he was kinda right.

this is easily in my top 5 parts of all-time. (the closure version will have to do).

the first time i ever saw ricky skate in person was at a silverstar demo where he didn't like the set-up. what made it interesting was instead of just settling, he decided to leave the park and shred everything within a three-block radius surrounding it... all the time with about 300 stoked kids chasing after him. he found so many lines on the fly that the locals had never even imagined. it was incredible.

in the spirit of ricky's hometown pride, the shop on my block recently finished their website so I thought I'd give 'em a link.
