chrome ball incident #891: misdemeanor

"Pretty insane, man."

Granted he's a little younger than I usually go on this thing but Bobby Worrest has always been a personal favorite of mine and with this being the 5-Year Anniversary of the Chrome Ball Incident, I wanted to showcase a skater that would've been far "too new" to include on the site when it first started.

This project was only supposed to last, at most, a couple of months before eventually burning out and fading away...  but 5 years and almost 900 posts later, here we are. Still talking about old shit.

Thank you keeping this thing alive.

fuck yeah... your blog is a godsend. i'm on lock down in downtown boston right now... can't leave the hospital that i work at becuase there's crazy swat team type dudes mandating that everybody stay put while they try to catch this fucker that bombed the marathon. fucking asshole, who would do this and why?!. nobody can go anywhere... been here since last night AND it's my daughter's birthday today too. i'd like to get home. they better catch this insane douchebag fucking terrorist. well, if he ends up barging in here and blowing me up then i'll go on the record saying that 5years of doing this blog has provided a great service to washed up reminiscing dirtbags like me. don't know too much about bobby worrest but if he's riding for gonz then he must be doing something right... besides the obvious amazing skating which seems to be ubiquitous nowadays...

Hang in there, Stephen.

Worrest is dope. I've always thought he's so underrated, but the dude rips and seems like he just doesn't care. Refreshing.

Happy anniversary, Chops. I love what you do; keeps us all thoroughly entertained.

Your interviews are some of the best skateboarding journalism in a long time.

Chops,
As always, killer stuff. Thanks for what you do, cant stress that enough. As soon as I sit down in the morning at work, I pour the coffee, fire up the Dell, and log onto CBI to get the day started. Big ups!

Please keep this blog going. It means so much to me. When I was younger I used to skate with Brian Chung and had lost touch with him. A few years ago I googled his name and your blog popped up. Seeing all his old ads almost brought tears to my eyes. Ever since then I have checked your blog daily.
Thanks for all the memories.
P.S.
A post about early nineties clothing companies would be neat.

Seems fitting to have Bobby Worrest for this special post. He is that rare breed who didn't 'Try' to go pro. It just happened. He ripped, people noticed, nuff said.

Chrome Ball is similar; A personal project with no grand intentions. Sharing slices of this life we call skateboarding. Don't stop.

G'dam that switch back tail photo is too awesome.

Remember being soo stoked on that back tail photo when it came out. Such a great shot. Bobby rips!

Congrats on 5 years!

congrats chopps glad you keep talking about old shit because there's nothing new really worth talking about in skateboarding w the exception of a few things that generally remind us of the past anyways.....

This is the closest thing we have to a history book for skateboarding. Thank you so much for all your time and effort. If you ever need an intern or any help Id be grateful to help contribute.
