this post basically stems from being really stoked on
this part as of late.
cairo foster.
and that last cover is a kickflip. so sick.
in other news, had a shit day today but
this still brought a smile to my face.
and big up to the
snackman. no, i can't think of any bad photos of backside 180 nosegrind either... and when it comes to that particular move, markovich will always be
king.
Between Cario's Real to Real and Transworld part...sprinkle in MJ's Modus part and Jerry's Black Cat part...my music taste began new roots. Going to see Built To Spill in September
ReplyDeleteWish Cairo was still on Real. There's something about Dwindle brands that I just can't get behind...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous - Couldn't agree more. Cairo and MJ's parts got me loving Built to Spill. His Fully Flared part also rekindled my enjoyment of the Flaming Lips.
ReplyDeleteOnce he got over the nollie hardflip (illusion flip) thing, the dude really came alive. Seems like quite the versatile dude.
That backside 5-0 flick is incredible. The colors look very nice, and the trick looks so clean.
His photos are amazing and in person watching him skate was one of those times where you just sit down and watch. Chest high nollie flips at melpitas park and front tails at 3rd and army off the man made transition. Pop and form is really excellent.
ReplyDeleteFor a while there, he seemed like one of those dudes who could do anything on street.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, just a head's up, I remember reading a Cairo interview where he said seeing Built to Spill was very disappointing. And to be honest, I've seen them a few times and they've never really blown me away live either.
ReplyDeletenice board, EY! And actually, Enjoi and Real are two of my favorites... but I prefer Deluxe over Dwindle by a huge fucking margin, if that makes sense.
anon2, I know he was in pittsburgh a few weeks ago but I never got the chance to witness the havoc firsthand.
thanks for the comments, guys!
I believe he said the Built to Spill show was the last night of a four night run... which could be partly responsible.
ReplyDeleteYah, the first time I heard Modest Mouth was through Cairo's Real to Reel part. Never Ending Math Equation is such a sick track...
and of course, Cairo is an amazing skateboarder.
Really nice watch !!!!

Yes! I knew from the title what this was gonna be.
ReplyDeleteReal To Reel remains my favorite video.
Total badass and all around nice guy. Showed up to a warehouse that the bros had going for a while. He didn't skate because I think he was hurt, but he chilled and cheered on the dudes regardless of the tricks. Right on, right on.
