chrome ball incident #831: shadows of tomorrow

"So all you skateboarders out there, take pride in your practice; it is a blessing to be able to create while surfing through time on a wooden deck. Show the world that this is your time to live."

Definitely no shortage of curious quotations in this one, for sure.

The poppin' fresh stylee of Jake Rupp.

And that Static part is still amazing.

Hope dude is well out there.

Be back Thursday.

  1. Really liked the way this guy skated, and yeah that Static part is still super sick after all these years. I remember hearing back in the day that he was supposed to be one of the first ams on Habitat when it started but some of the people on Alien weren't stoked on his attitude. Bummer cause we would have been a great addition to that company.

  4. idizingdWeird to hear that about Jake... I was at Woodward with him when we were both youngsters and he came through Pittsburgh a few times to skate in the mid/late 90s. I thought he was always a really friendly guy.

  5. Much respect to Jake Rupp! Really a blessing to see his abilities on a skateboard! Wonder what he is up to. Would love to see a board from him on Organika with Karl, Quim and Adelmo.

  6. @anonymous

just 'cause he's your boy, dosen't mean he's a sweetheart. maybe he's the nicest dude out there, but when you hear someone's a dick from several different people, you start to think there's something of it.

dude ripped and then he was gone. there's a reason for that. enlighten us.

  9. I'll second that about the nollie shifty, so dope. I can do them frontside for days but backsides solid. I think the only other pro i've seen do 'em was Pepe Martinez.

  10. That 2nd story fs board is a great shot. Same with that first one in the barn.

Like others have said... that bs nollie shifty is super good.

How long was he pro for Element? I wasn't paying very close attention to skateboarding during those years.
