chrome ball incident #798: man bites dog
More than enough requests for Corey Chrysler over the years but I honestly never felt his ads gave him the proper justice for all that he was capable of...
but I was watching this part the other day and realized his presence on CBI was a necessity. Legendary.
RIP Nick Foster
Not exactly sure what happened to Corey after leaving the spotlight. He came back for a minute around '97 in this but that's the last I've seen of him.
(And yes, him using Henry's song in that Consolidated part is a definite faux pas... but I'll let you tell him that.)
Who was the first to ollie the Santa Monica 3-set anyway?
In other news, Familia posted up a video featuring last week's "Skateboarding is Dead" festivities. Such a good time... from what I can remember.
That park is twice as fun as it looks in the video. One of the best I've been to.
Yes! always been stoked on this guy. Great pics/ads. Does he still skate at all? That sucks about Nick Foster. 'Nother ripper for sure...
ReplyDeleteWeird.
ReplyDeleteI was flicking through some old posts and saw an ad with him and thought "Damn, can't believe Chops hasn't done a post on him yet"

ReplyDeleteTight post chopps. Always dug this guy. Homey looks like he packed on a few over the years. Thanks again for being part of the skateboarding is dead event. Shit was epic.
ReplyDeleteDope. Just watched that Debunker part the other day for the first time in years. Had to be one of the first vids that featured slams next to makes which is super common now. And skating to Lard...awesome.
ReplyDeleteOllie into the fountain at Embarcadero just looks huge.
ReplyDeleteMy local shop never got Debunker or, now that I think about it, any video he was in. Bro cam is off the charts in that Debunker part... shaky and out of frame.
ReplyDeleteI always heard lots of good things about his skating. Anyone around my way who went to SF on a skate trip back in the late 80's/early 90's came back saying Chrysler and Karma were under-rated and super good.

Was hoping to see some chops skating in the Familia clip!
ReplyDeleteThe Mr. Jay drawing is awesome! I remember that board... Rudy Johnson. I was looking for that board graphic but could never find it. The Skateboard Museum is Nick Halkias? That dude who just had the Raiders of the Archives?
I was reading the Thrasher Skate & Destroy book while taking a dump this morning and I believe I saw Alan Petersen had a cover in 1994 going down that triple set.
ReplyDeleteRIP. Photos and footage did not do full justice. Straight beast. Ollie into EMB fountain is gnar.
