gearing up for getting down

so when Nike approached me about designing my own colorway for a shoe, I told them that I needed two things:

1) I wouldn't do it without Neil's ok...

and 2) It had to be a throwback.

I'm glad it all worked out...

july.

p.s. If you don't like hi-tops, feel free to cut 'em off... I supplied the scissors.

  12. Like the above poster asked, are you getting paid for this? If so, I'll buy a pair. You've been killing it, especially in 2010. You deserve it.

  14. I was disappointed to see these come up on sneaker fetish sites dating back to January, just from typing "chrome ball incident" in a google search.

Not that sneaker people would get it anyway, but it's too bad you can't determine which individual shops can get the shoes and just limit it to a handful nationwide.

  21. you are always so on point.
I have not worn a pair of Nikes since the OG Jordans were the skate shoe of choice but the Enigma was my favorite "skate shoe" in its time. I might have to break some serious decades of NOT buying Nikes to get on this! Nice work E!! Much respect!! Your blog is HUGE!!

  26. Thanks guys. Glad the majority of you seem to dig 'em. These have been a longtime coming.

To be honest, CBI was supposed to end in September '09 until a longtime friend of the site over at SB presented me with the opportunity to do this. Designing your own shoe can serve as a great motivator, and although CBI can really be a pain in the ass sometimes, I'm glad I stuck with doing it. The Dunk really gave me something to work towards.

There have been a few financial inquiries made here that make me uncomfortable in answering, so I'm not going to.

But I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to "sell" you anything. If you like the shoe, great (cause I do)... and if you don't like it for whatever reason, that's cool, too. I just thought it was a rad idea.

I'm just glad to have people dig the site. Thanks guys.
