lol. I have to go back to the cbi archives to check if I've talked about a certain story or anecdote already.
We got the magic F video in my town. All I really remember is the first dude doing a super long manual. It was a pretty decent video for its time considering I didn't know of any of the dudes.
Thanks for that Chris Hall part. So good. That was out of nowhere craziness...
I always thought Pat Duffy had a bit of a strange style but he was obviously so gnarly at the time and shreds so hard. When he does interviews on the Plan B website, I find it really awkward. I can't make it past a minute or so.
I know what you mean, Keith. I watched his interview with Sheffey- and I thought about the Carl Hyndman interview. To him anyway, he thought Sheffey was never the same after Duffy showed up, and sort of took the Going Big / Handrail crown from him. I thought, That might have contributed to the awkwardness.
The Parallel! Got a special place in my chest for that one. Liversedge is such a pleasure to watch. Was wonderin' not too long ago when another video grab bag might be dropped. Thanks.
I still love Stun. It was such a weird video. It looks like G&S is trying to stage some kind of comeback too. Oddly enough, the promo they put out isn't half bad. http://www.vimeo.com/2976513 Also, Josh Fuckin' Beagle. Always psyched that guy. What video did he skate to Miles Davis' "Seven Steps To Heaven"?
Gonz Video Days!!! To me that is exactly what street skating is all about. Even if it is edited heavily, philosophically, that is how I want skating to be
to be honest, I was kinda snoozing on "the parallel" til my man Andy brought it up when I was in NYC. I had seen it in a minute and forgot how amazing it is... plus, i'm really stoked on lance at the moment.
have another Liversedge post coming up as well.
again, these are just clips that I've found to be missing from online circulation that deserve to be out there.
To me, it seemed like "The Parallel"- and the mentality behind it- represented / caused a change in the general mindset in skateboarding. It's really nice, and heartfelt... and there's no way something like that would be in a World Industries video.
Duffy's Virtual Reality is horribly overlooked. 2 bangin' epic parts in 2 years.
ReplyDeleteNever seen that Beagle part before... could've been edited a bit better but probably the best I've seen from him.
skyJosh Beagle can get away with landing stiff legged.

ReplyDelete---word verification captcha snuck over into my text box... but Sky Beagle has a good ring to it.
Stoked on the pogo stick skit.
