chrome ball incident #338: mr tough

assorted photos of jason dill with his pants on.

dude's just one of those cats where every photo of him on a skateboard just seems right... like that's how its supposed to be, regardless of the peripheral.

the volcano shot up top is an all-time favorite of mine that i found just the other day after searching since June...

and this is quite sad to admit but locating it was actually kind of a big deal for me.

  1. Dill is such a great, creative skater. All of his photos, teamed with the AWS design strategy, are gold.
Dill, the NYC celebrity, however, I could live without.

  2. thrashers 25th anniversary issue, right? Or like 250th issue or something? Amazing issue-- so many good photos and interviews.

  3. If 50% of the professional skateboarders on earth putted half of the effort that Dill puts on pictures and video parts, everything would be sooo much better! He is a freaking genius! Amazing post!

  4. "Jason Dill with his pants on," well put. I'd never noticed the note to Keenan in the lipslide ad; sick.

  5. "Jason Dill with his pants on," LOL
Told you not to click on the link.

That Volcano shot is good for sure. I also like that jump ramp one with the satellite dishes in the background.

In that sw bs 180 shot... real sticker seems odd, no? I don't remember him ever riding for a DLX wood company.

  6. This was from the 25th anniversary issue, I got it a year after I started skating.
You're right John, that was a great issue. It introduced me to Jason Jessee, his interview was so weird. And one of my favorite skate photos is in there - Tom Penny doing a fakie inside heel in France, the photo was tinted blue. His interview was great as well.

Dill's frontside feeble on this post was awesome too, I remember seeing that for the first time.

  7. Or back smith, rather. When I first saw the ad I thought it was a front feeble.

  8. I was watching an old 101 promo recently with Jason Dill. It's interesting how in skateboarding sometimes there's a change in style / persona- 101 era Dill to modern NYC Dill, or enjoi Chris Cole to Zero Chris Cole, et al.

  9. I guess he's going to knock you out for this. I wonder why he even puts out coverage when he's just going to get pissed off about seeing it later (albeit, only in blog/computer format).

  11. totally unintentional patrick. sorry dude... although i'm still questioning the accuracy of that claim. thanks for the comment!

damn, i wish you guys would've told me where that volcano photo was 3 months ago when i needed it. jk

kinda toyed around with dill's blog statements in this one but i got nothing but respect for the dude. one of my all-time favorite skaters.

keith, still your fault. And I thought the same thing about that sticker. Its late '93, post-color, pre-101. He rode for Spitfire and Thunder at the time... Real had to be a prospect.

    thanks fellas
