chrome ball incident #895: getaway car

"Chaffey High was perfect for that time and era in skateboarding."

Head Heel Bruiser and friend of the CBI, Mr. Richard Mulder.

This dude had ledge lines for days. Still don't think this part gets the credit it deserves. Top-shelf.

Big up to Derek Mills and special thanks to Patrick O'Dell.

And on an unrelated note: my man Max sent over this funny little skate-centric mix to get drunk to. Good stuff.

I always thought this dude has a superb ledge game and the only problem with the mouse part was maybe the music. I saw a crail couch with mulder and apparently he succombed to donuts and now parents with hosoi. What a way to go out!

Mulder was and is one of my favorite all-time Chocolate riders. He had such a unique style and such good tech ability. Always loved mouse and chocolate tour parts. Nike on-tap was so good too. I think he had a chest high front crook to fakie in that one. control.

I remember when the Claremont, CA skatepark opened in like 1998, back before every city in America had its own skatepark, Mulder was literally there every single day.

Other pros dropped by on occasion -- Koston, Templeton, McCrank, Reynolds -- but Mulder basically lived there. Always seemed like a real humble dude.

Richard Mulder was the first pro I ever met at Chaffey . It was so rad to meet this dude u see in the magazines and videos and he was super nice and down to earth. He talked with and played SKATE with whichever of us kids would ask him to. Looking back I'm pretty sure he let us have a few letters here and there. For me as a kid who was livin in Wrightwood at the time it was the best. Chaffey was the first place I went where there was a lot of people at one spot. On a weekend there were easily 50 to 100 heads there. Doesn't really feel like there's spots like that anymore (at least near Huntington Beach) Seems like he just kinda disappeared, huh?

I've always liked that switch flip nose manual at Chaffey in his Mouse part. And that switch tre near the end is a beaut.

As a skate spot, I thought Chaffey was a bit overrated, and definitely overplayed. But I did see Ronnie Creager ripping it there once.

Chocalate Tour was so sick. That line in which he switch backside flips then follows with a front tail always always always stuck out to me.
