chrome ball incident #872: friendship

"All these kids come up to me and go, 'Oh, you've got a black arm.' But no one has ever come up to me and said, "You've got a white heart.'"

A supporting player up til this point, got more than my share of email requests for this one following last week's Karma interview. One of skateboarding's most intriguing cases, Scott Bourne.

Skateboarder, model, potential Sinclair cap buster and a damn good writer.

And how amazing was The Unbelievers?

Special thanks to my friends and family... and Michael Sieben for being awesome.

Happy Birthday, Kate!

Right on Chops! Love this dude. I've actually been having a hard time finding Scotts book in North America. Any ideas?

Kills it skating and I loved ready his articles in Slap. Remember that country song he skated to in his 411 part...I dug it

me and my buddy were just talking about this guy. i remember him and a few other spitfire dudes rolled over to the santa rosa skate park. at the time he only had one arm tatted black. i always liked his skate style. he was always cool too. everytime he came back around he always said "whats up."

Long time coming, not sure I get the "supporting player" reference either, dude was a huge part of the cube's vibe for years, practically synonymous with it actually.

Anyhow, cool to see this stuff, the Big Brother cover with the launch ramp to stair ledge would have been great to see too.

Crippling doubt, I got mine from the publisher -http://www.1980editions.com/19-80/index.php?id_lang=1 took about 5 days for it to get here.

thanks for that link tim. that interview was a good read for sure. i never really paid much attention to this guy back in the day. i mean i knew about him and all but now, after reading that, i realize what an interesting person he is. i may have to hunt down his book too. i like this quote from the interview btw:

"Money can make just about any of your desires come true, but it will never give you desire and I am so thankful for the desire."

this kinda rings true with me, and that's coming from the opposite end of the spectrum. i mean i'm not 'rich' or anything but i live comfortably and even though i can buy all the shit i want now, have a decent job, family, house, car, motorcycle, clothes, food, booze, etc... i still miss my late teens/early 20's. when i was struggling for cash but had more drive and passion about things i think i was happier. sorry about the long winded comment, maybe i should start my own blog. hahaha. rad post anyway...

by "supporting player", I just meant that he's been on several spot posts but never his own. no big deal.
