chrome ball incident #777: five year plan

"Todd was basically a street skater on vert... And anything he tried, he did. We’d go street skating and he’d be like, “Yeah, I want to learn big spins to tailslides.” You’d see him do it on a curb and then he’d be doing it on his ramp the next day. It was awesome. He’d do it first on his mini ramp and then take it to vert. Crazy." -Jeremy Klein

Twin interviews from one of skateboarding's greatest what-if's: Todd Congelliere.

The longer Poweredge piece was conducted at the height of Todd's powers while the shorter Thrasher one was written after the fact to answer any questions regarding Congelliere's sudden professional vacancy... and definitely ruffled more than a few feathers upon its publication. Good shit.

Special thanks to Deluxe, Expedition, Autobahn, Arcade II, and Wyatt Lee.

Congrats to Jake the Janitor.

Probably should've done a post on 777 for this one but wanted to utilize tonight as a kinda/sorta lead-up to tomorrow's interview.

Chrome Ball turns 4 next week. Pretty nuts.

One footed Back Smith? Sick. A lot of these vert guys were way more before my time but it's good that this site provides an avenue for showing younger guys like myself some good ol' back in the day skating.
Cheers

This guy=vert hero. I love that the one footed backside smith was a joke and then Burnquist took it years later and ran that joke all over the place.
