chrome ball incident #616: boogie down

the mega-pop steeze of danny supasiririr... of danny supa.

this part is a little newer and I can't help but think heads sleep on it.

and those late-90's double-page eli zoo ads always stoke me out. incredible.

thanks for all the support out there.

old ZY ads were genius

Mixtape was a bit before my time so can anyone tell me exactly what the concept was with havin the footage set to rappers in the studio? Such a sick concept, wouldn't really work today though. Ghostface's Criminology verse kills it. And that switch 180 to start off the part? Talk about comin' out swingin', I want one of those old Zoo York jerseys ahah

Also, I think you're right about that Nike part getting slept on. I'm ashamed to say that I'd never seen it before till now. It's fuckin incredible. Fast, pop, and lots of good switch. I remember the interview with that nollie bs bigspin in it, I think it might've been in Slap? Could be wrong on that one though. It was the first time I'd seen that trick and I thought it was sick. Then everyone started doing them and I thought they looked gross. Supa's is still nice though. It's like Carroll's salad grind in his Fully Flared part. The right style can make ugly tricks look good

Damn, I hadn't seen the majority of those ads and whatnot you posted. Awesome stuff. Agreed with dan77, that Nike part is hella slept on. I'd maybe seen it twice, it's too bad that that video is mired in whatever it's mired in, because it's not even a footnote in videos I want to watch with some regularity. I'm ready to nerd out on another week of the CB.

e! nice post. Always like Supa. Kinda flies under the radar.

That sb part is sick. Not sure I've ever seen it. Prob. came out when I wasn't paying much attention to skateboarding. Such good pop. Must be nice to have a good heel flip and every freaking variety. hard heel big spin!? get the fuck outta here! Does anyone else even do it?

My friend got me on a heel flip in a game of skate on sat. Sketched the first one... primo on the rebate. lmfao. Did land one respectable one. First one maybe ever in 23 years! That shit never made sense to me.

One of the highest pops I have ever seen..he rules that shit. Mix tape was killing...Back in the day I remember his wheels of fortune at 411vm playing Dr. Octagon at his part..sick! Hey, he got a plenty of nice flicks at his interview for TWS mag/Pro Spotlight.

I met Danny Supa with Vinny Ponte at Montclair State in prob '93...I was skating with the infamous Alex Goldberg at the time..anyway he had CRAZY pop back then and a lot of board control..super talented..over the years I'd see him more and more..at the banks, whitehall, time life, etc..and he was always really good...his mixtape part was too sick..and beyond that he's a really, really nice guy..also..in that second pic he's skating in Nike rock climbing shoes! They were called the "Nike Okwahn"..this was way before Nike had a skate program (I think he was on converse when the nike team with BAM existed)..I saw him skate in those quite a few times..dont know how he did it without breaking his ankles, the soles didnt look like they had any grip at all!
you can see a pic of the shoes here:

(sorry if Im not allowed to post a link to another site)

and like some poser said those old ZY ads are gold...

So hyped to see those old Zoo ads with a young Supa. Did anyone see his part in that RB Umali video that came out in early 2000's? The dude is so sick... can't wait for some new footage.

It might be a geographic jargon thing but a hard heel flip = inward heel flip, just like a hard flip = inward kick flip

rock climbing shoes! crazy!
