#605: shades and leopard print

Not exactly sure how I went from a Frosty post to this dude but these types of concerns have never stopped me before...

The safety-conscious pool deity himself, Screaming Lord Salba.
Still going strong today. Gnar.

Stuck mostly with the classic Upland stuff on this one but am stoked to finally get a little Nude Bowl action in here.

Lance's shot of Salba's final Upland ride takes the cake.

In other news, this is my new favorite shit.

Special thanks to Crailtap and DLX.

Sweet, Chops. Pool skating has gone through many ups and downs but Salba's always been there ripping it up. I remember seeing his ads in the 80s and getting really into them. I was more interested in seeing the limited coverage of street skating but Salba to me always represented the attitude that was supposed to be a part of skateboarding as a whole. 25 years later and he's still repping the same way. Much respect.

how riteous is the graffiti in that pool!!! ...the one above the nude bowl flick. haha. never was a big fan of this dude as a kid growing up... i kinda slept on his kind of skating until later in life. growing up in the northeast probably had something to do with that. really started to appreciate the whole pool scene and how gnarly he is later on though. Salba's still holdin it down... what can i say, a respectable guy.

Good to see him getting a post.

Dude had a classic graphic!

I think that Thrasher was one of the first ones I had.

Pool skating is super gnarly. I've never skated an actual pool. Looks fun and tight.

Thanks Chops. I thought you might have run out of 80's posts, which are my favorite. I still can't believe we learned how to do tricks on those boards. More 80's!

never saw this comin. even in the 80's this cat had the cagey veteran vibe for me. wasn't super into it. but shit, dude can do the splits and he never stopped skating, that's fer sure. gotta respect. on another note franks impression of gonz was TOO good. took me a long time to stop laughin after that.

Yeah, pool skating has never really been my thing but you gotta respect the dude. And to still be doing it at the level he is, beyond legendary in my book.

thanks guys.

The body language on that ollie by the pipe is just plain sick. Salba's always ripped. It's probably because he wore pads that he's still ripping hard at this point.
