chrome ball incident #555: part animal part machine

Q: Tell me a little about school, did you finish?
A: If my grandma reads this, yeah I finished. If anyone else reads this, no, I dropped out in the 9th grade.

Amazing Jason Jessee spotlight from '89.

Special thanks to Jamie Thomas and the fine folks at Black Box.

Also, long-time CBI supporter Dave Ashley's shop, the Armory, is up in this TWS contest today (Monday)... so vote for him.

The Jason Lives ad is so classic. Its so Jason.

Great collection here, Chops. Its such a shame that so many young kids have no clue who he is and what he did for skating. His skating was matched by his attitude and his approach to life, which was/is rare.

I've met Jason a few times at a couple of pool sessions in Watsonville. He's usually alone and always kills it. Every skater who's been around a bit in this town, no matter how old, has a Jason Jessee story or two. We usually talk about whatever comic books we just read.
