chrome ball incident #417: what isn't nature

"In the fight between good and evil, don't put your money on human beings."

One of my all-time favorite interviews... Mosaic-era Dill meets Aaron Meza to discuss the finer things in life.

Happy Birthday Robby P.

That Nollie back heel sequences is one of the best sequences I've ever seen. Damn, that was perfect. fakie 5-0 grind pic is great too.

Awesome skater - not so sure about his new era? This guy with Gino and Clyzza made 101 that tight team.

Definitely have a vivid picture of that Dyrdek ad with the glowing shoe. Awesome interview. Not skating for months and filming all lines at the same spot for months straight is so crazy it worked.

Jason Dill, total weirdo, but not that weird. He looks exactly my friend Project Pete (he got that name from listening to waaaaaaaay too much Three 6 Mafia one summer).

Shame that his part in Trilogy was so short. I wonder if he has any of his old 101 boards/shirts lying around.

Good question for y'all. What do pros do w/all their old free clothes and shirts? There's only so many pairs of Blind jeans that you can wear!

Wow, I remember reading this one when it came out. Although I guess it was only 2003 - still, great interview!

Great post! The quote about Trujillo is classic. This time period was a personal favorite of mine.

How about a post of old Vita ads?

I know Buffalo Exchange has a lot of skate gear moving through it at all times, and I also heard that some Bay Area locations were called by companies and told to stop buying clothes from their "employees."

Dill for days.

I think the reincarnated Skateboarder Mag is the best of the however many US skate mags that are out there these days--and I know Skateboard/TWS and especially Thrasher fans will tell me to stop sniffing the Krazy Glue. But the thing I like about Skateboarder is that even going back to when Meza was running the ship, they really have a healthy appreciation for the past/history of skating as well as the present, which the other mags seem to lag on. I think it's awesome that the Skateboard Mag is still on the scene and thriving after 72 issues, without taking one single ad from a non-core skate company, but their street-centric approacj to coverage isn't all I want in a magazine.

I agree, Cheaps. Mosaic is my favorite Dill part. I respect that he's doing his own thing, but the 3 / 4 length shorts- tube socks- pseudo Mohawk era footage doesn't appeal to me as much.

1/2 cab manny back 3 out appeals to me way too much. that shit was sick. That's what I love about Dill, always something new and exciting, even trilogy for back then, who else would have nollie 180 back 50'd hubba, for then, that was so crazy.

I remember reading that "skateboarders and drugs" article in the orthodontist's office the day that I got my braces put on. A scan of that at some point would be great.
This post was incredible. Dill can get away with anything in my eyes. It's funny how pros tend to isolate themselves into "periods" of a few years that are defined by certain clothes or tricks they are doing. A lot of it is in the clothes. This "Mosaic all lines frizzy hair bell bottoms" period was one of his best.

skate more is one of the best video parts of the decade...

I'd agree about the skate more part. Used to watch that one over and over. I'm pretty sure that part started the over the hydrant to manual craze
