great interview. I'm not sure I ever saw it before. Gotta respect Stevie for building his empire from the ground up. Even with decisions that seem odd/questionable, he's still good to go. Who else could quit Chocolate for another skate company and succeed? The birth and death of Reebok skate shoes and comes out rich with reputation intact? Not sure anyone else could have pulled them off.

i thought it was so rad how in appleyards latest interview they asked, "who's your favorite skateboarder, who gets you stoked?" and his answer: "Stevie Williams."
He's got that mass appeal. Hoping for some well filmed goods from him soon.

HAHA... oh Stevie....

Hummm... First memories of Stevie... Well when he was like 14 we had him riding for Profile and thought it would be cool to have him come out to SF for the summer (93? 94?)... I booked his flight and when I called to tell him the flight info (the day before)... I all of a sudden had to talk to his grandma and verify that the whole thing was legit... She needed to know that Stevie wasn't pulling a fast one... He wasn't and he got on the flight....
When he showed we went right down to EMB... I remember he had a box cutter on him... I told him he wouldn't need it in the city as most everyone had eachother's back... I just thought 'damn, little bad ass is gonna cut the first person that gets in his face..' haha... Fuck he was still lil' Stevie back then... Being that small and coming to Cali from Philly.... I would have had a box cutter too... lol....
