made this one a little bigger cause those last two have been going around for a minute... had to have that butterfly gem in there though.
that's the famous shot wearing the timberlands...
Nice. Always like Drake Jones and his bag of tricks. Nice pop, nice style. And he rocks Roots gear. Canada nomesain. Bob Shirt has that post pro Drake Jones interviewSpeaking of butterflies, I went to the monarch sanctuary in central Mexico. Peep mad mariposas.
I remember when the shop I rode for got in those first Experience boards and Drake Jones and iirc Jamie Thomas had pro models. I was like wtf? Who the fuck are these guys, never heard of either of them, and how did they get pro models. Jone's Addiction like Jane's Addiction.
I remember meeting him in '96. He was like "move out west and become a star." He always came off as just a straight guy.
straight up guy. its been a long day!
My old homie Drake! He did what he did and just happened to be really talented at skating. Talk about effortless. I remember we used to like playing dice and I once lost $40 bucks to him. That may not sound like a lot, but at the time, $40 bucks was a lot to me! I was kinda already outta the scene when Drake decided to call it a day. At the time, I'm sure it was probably pretty crazy to a lot of people. But in hindsight, it's like Chops said, you gotta respect him for being able to walk away when he was on top. I caught up with him a little bit when he was working at Blackbox but he was outta not too long after that.
Yeah, he told me he didn't like that it felt like "work."
This is so good. rad site. Drake was and still is a skateboard hero too me. i grew up skating white plains where he from and its timeless too view these photos. cant believe i just got put on too this today. keep up the good work whoever does this. im always a day late...
